International Doctoral Research and Creative Residency
International PhD call 2026 – 2027
This residency is designed for doctoral researchers pursuing research-creation work. It is primarily aimed at international candidates and was developed as an extension of the RADIAN doctoral programme.

Open to PhD candidates from international Higher Education institutions, this six-month residency offers a supportive environment for artistic production, critical experimentation, and reflective practice. Participants are invited to develop their research through dialogue with diverse methodologies, practices, and conceptual frameworks, while immersing themselves in a dynamic ecosystem of pedagogy, academic and artistic exchange.
The residency also fosters intellectual and transdisciplinary dialogue within the school, enhancing the circulation of ideas and practices across international contexts, and actively supporting doctoral trajectories at the intersection of research and creation.
At the end of the six-month residency, the PhD candidate is invited to conceive and curate an exhibition at ésadhar. Designed as a critical platform for the public dissemination of their research, the exhibition also acts as a pedagogical intervention that renders visible the experimental, transdisciplinary, and situated methodologies developed throughout the residency.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication, contributing to the dissemination of the work within the scientific and artistic communities, as well as to a broader audience.

Cette résidence s’adresse à des doctorant·es qui poursuivent un travail de recherche-création.
Elle s’adresse principalement à des doctorant·es, conçu dans le prolongement de la dynamique du doctorat RADIAN.

Ouvert à un·e doctorant·e issu·e d’établissements supérieurs internationaux, ce programme d’une durée de six mois offre un cadre propice à la production, à l’expérimentation et à la réflexion critique, permettant aux chercheur·ses de nourrir leur travail au contact de différentes approches, pratiques et méthodologies, tout en s’immergeant dans un écosystème pédagogique, artistique et scientifique dynamique.
La résidence favorise également les échanges intellectuels et transdisciplinaires au sein de l’école, renforçant la circulation des idées et des pratiques à l’échelle internationale et soutenant les parcours doctoraux de la recherche et création.
À l’issue des six mois de résidence, le·la doctorant·e est invité·e à concevoir et réaliser une exposition personnelle au sein de à l’ésadhar. Conçue comme un temps de partage et de restitution autour de sa recherche, celle-ci donne à voir les processus, les hypothèses et les formes développés au cours de la résidence. L’exposition sera accompagnée d’une édition, participant à la diffusion des travaux auprès de la communauté scientifique, artistique et d’un public élargi.
