Professionalisation
At ÉSADHAR, professional training takes place throughout the course of study. Practical workshops and theoretical seminars alternate with meetings and discussions throughout the year with artists, designers, and various professionals who shed light on the many aspects of creative professions.
From the first year, students are introduced to exhibition techniques, documentary and bibliographic research, and mediation. From the second year onwards, specific courses cover exhibition techniques, documentary and bibliographic research, and mediation.
From the first year onwards, students are introduced to exhibition techniques, documentary and bibliographic research, and mediation. From the second year onwards, specific courses allow students to practice written and oral presentation of their work and also cover website creation and portfolio development.
From the second cycle onwards, regular workshops and meetings with specialist speakers enable students to explore a particular field related to professionalization in greater depth: cultural and institutional context, conditions for the production and presentation of works, communication and strategies for professional and artistic careers at the start of one’s career, the art market, copyright, the status of artist-author, etc.

Rrose Sélavy
A three-part project that aims to support recent graduates of Ésadhar (less than three years) in their professional integration, addressing the needs of graduates in Art, Graphic Design, and Creative Writing by offering them opportunities for creation, dissemination, and mentoring.
Rrose Sélavy consists of three tailor-made modules spread throughout the year, including residencies, exhibition cycles, and the new La Fabrique program.
Les Séquaniennes, a residency program
Research and professional development residencies for young emerging artists and designers along the Seine. The Les Séquaniennes research residency program aims to establish a fruitful dialogue between a young generation of artists and designers and a region.
- Les Séquaniennes are artist residencies, a laboratory but also an incubator, an interregional research center, a springboard for professional integration, and a network of regional actors with the Seine as a shared space and place of imagination.
- Les Séquaniennes is developing a large-scale interregional initiative to help artists and designers who have graduated from ésadhar to become professionals by offering them a workspace and opportunities for artistic projects and interventions organized by organizations, local authorities, and companies based in the region.
The program aims to play a role in helping artists and creators settle along the Seine axis and in the emergence of a new artistic scene that connects the megalopolis of Paris with smaller towns, thereby redefining the relationship between the center and the periphery.
Exposing young graduates
The second part gives visibility to young artists who graduated this year through a series of exhibitions organized in partnership with several cultural venues in Rouen and Le Havre. The exhibition cycle is designed as a platform for young graduates to showcase their work.
This module allows them to:
– Have a space/time to assert their artistic project
– Benefit from the necessary support, after graduation and at the start of their career, to become more professional
– Receive intellectual support by participating in events and meeting professionals
– Take advantage of cooperation with cultural institutions throughout the region
– Benefit from networking opportunities
La Fabrique, a new initiative
The third module, La Fabrique, is part of a drive to support professionalization through a program dedicated to young graduates, in partnership with the Pépinière du Fort de Tourneville (Le Havre) and in the renovated premises of the Rouen campus.
Number of beneficiaries: 6 people
Conditions
Six selected graduates receive tailored support for one academic year (eight months) and/or on a project basis:
- Access to collaborative workspaces (offices, workshops)
- Technical support for projects and prototyping in conjunction with the fablabs at each site and the technical workshops
- Training workshops on the administration of artistic activity
- Individualized follow-up by an expert coordinator (art critic, exhibition curator): writing a theoretical text on each artist’s work, an essential tool at the start of a career
Terms and conditions
The program is open to all graduates up to N+3.
