VAE

VAE, or Validation of Acquired Experience, resulting from the Social Modernization Act of January 17, 2002, is a means of obtaining professional certification by demonstrating the skills acquired throughout one’s life.

Who is eligible?

Candidates who wish to undertake a VAE process must have one or more experiences related to the degree they are seeking.
These may include the following:

  • Salaried or non-salaried professional activity;
  • Volunteer work;
  • Registration on the list of high-level athletes;
  • Trade union responsibilities;
  • Local electoral mandate or local elected office;
  • Participation in solidarity economy activities, if the candidate is welcomed and supported by an organization that provides shelter and accommodation for people in difficulty;
  • Training or internship period, including Operational Preparation for Employment (POE) or a Period of Professional Experience (PMSMP).

Application procedures

Applications will be accepted from September 15 to October 31, 2025.
Admissibility committee at the end of November.

The VAE registration process is paperless. Submit a PDF file via this link containing your completed application form, CV, and portfolio of work.

Application review fee to be paid by October 31, 2025:
€250 for people in employment
€200 for job seekers

Registration fee if accepted:
€800 for people in employment
€500 for job seekers

The Ésadhar VAE training program is Qualiopi certified and may be eligible for funding under continuing professional development.
