Entrance exam
Admission to the first year at the Le Havre-Rouen School of Art and Design is by competitive examination. The examination is open to anyone who has obtained their high school diploma or is taking their high school diploma during the school year.
International candidates
The competition is open to international candidates who hold a diploma equivalent to the French baccalaureate.
Exemption
Applicants who do not hold a high school diploma and are over 18 years of age may apply, subject to acceptance of their project by the esadhar management. To apply for an exemption, applicants must submit the following: cover letter, portfolio, and CV.
Disability
Candidates with disabilities are entitled to special arrangements during the entrance exam. The request for special arrangements must be supported by a letter from the candidate’s doctor or any other valid supporting document. The request is entered during registration via the dedicated tab on Parcoursup and notified by email to the esadhar registrar’s office.
Competition fees
The fee to take the exam is €50. Each candidate must pay the exam fee. There are no exemptions from this fee.
International students
If you wish to enter the first year of a French public art school, you must register on the Parcoursup platform.
If you do not have an INE, simply specify “I do not have an INE.”
International candidates must submit a copy of their diplomas translated into French.
A good knowledge of French is required: proof of passing the TCF (French language proficiency test) level B2 or the DELF (French language diploma) level B2 will be required if your application is accepted.
