Logging in and communicating

Each student has a unique ESADHAR username that allows them to log in to the school’s computers, access their email, their Taïga account, and the online version of Microsoft 365.
The username is composed as follows: prenom.nom@esadhar.fr

All internal school communications are sent via @esadhar.fr email. Emails can be accessed via Outlook (a mobile app is available). The email system is used to inform students about school events and to communicate administrative information necessary for the smooth running of their studies. It is the responsibility of each student to check their messages regularly. Students have access to the online version of Microsoft 365 (Word, Teams, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.) by logging in with their esadhar username.

Get involved

Getting involved in school bodies

Elections are held at the beginning of the year. To participate in school bodies, you can:
→ Be elected to the Board of Directors (one student per campus)
→ Be elected to the Teaching and Student Life Council (two students per campus)
→ Be a class representative (attending the Development Council)
For more information on procedures, contact the Academic Department.

Get involved in art school networks

ésadhar is a member of several networks that bring together art schools, including:
→ ANdÉA (National Association of Public Art and Design Schools)
→ ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts)
These networks facilitate the flow of information and provide a stronger, more unified voice on current issues facing art schools in France and Europe. Students can take part in ANdÉA activities by being elected (elections are held in October) and thus represent the student voice at the general assembly, and can also run for a seat on the board of directors.

Committing to passing on knowledge: tutoring

Tutoring offers everyone the opportunity to pass on specific knowledge and skills to other students. The commitment is based on four paid hours per week over a total of twenty-eight weeks. The distribution of office hours is agreed upon with the academic administration of each campus.

BDE

Both campuses have a student union (BDE). Student unions are associations governed by the 1901 law, whose members are elected once a year. They rely on the commitment and initiative of students. Attentive to students’ needs and acting as a potential bridge to other contacts, the BDE creates links, promotes student work, and helps to organize campus life. Its role is to propose events, exhibitions, meals, and parties, and to develop projects.

What is the CVEC?

Every student enrolled in initial training at a higher education institution must obtain, prior to enrollment, proof of payment or exemption from the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC). The amount of the CVEC is revised annually; in 2024, it was €103. Students receiving scholarships are exempt. The CVEC helps fund a range of initiatives in the areas of health, social action, hospitality, ecological transition, culture, and sports, all designed to improve your student life. Find out more!
The Shared Garden, the Récupérathèque, and Le Moulin de l’ésadhar on the Le Havre campus, as well as the social space on the Rouen campus, are made possible with the support of the CVEC and the CROUS.

Health

Social security

Enrollment in a social security plan is mandatory. This plan is linked to your personal situation, which depends on your age and whether you are a non-salaried student, a salaried student, or a foreign student.
More information

If you are European and come to study in France, you are considered to be on a temporary stay and must normally be affiliated with the health insurance scheme of your country of origin. If you are a foreign student from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, you are covered by universal health coverage (Puma), without the application of the 3-month waiting period.
More information

Supplementary health insurance

To supplement your health insurance reimbursements, you can take out supplementary health insurance. You can choose between a student mutual insurance company (LMDE, Smeno, SMERRA, HEYME), your parents’ mutual insurance company, or any other supplementary insurance provider.
More information

Solidarity-based supplementary health insurance (C2S)

Depending on your income, you can apply for complementary health insurance, which covers healthcare costs that are not reimbursed by the French national health insurance system (including hospital costs). Depending on your income, it is either free or costs €8 per month if you are under 29 years of age.
More information

Civil liability

When enrolling, each student must provide proof of civil liability insurance covering the entire academic year. In most cases, home insurance also covers civil liability. If this is not the case, you can take out specific insurance with one of the student mutual insurance companies.
