STEP – Strategies for Transformative Education for Art in Public Spaces
In 2025, éсадhar, winner of the Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education program, launched the European project STEP – Strategies for Transformative Education for Art in Public Spaces, supported by Erasmus+. This educational innovation and research project, which will run for three years (2026–2028), aims to renew teaching practices through interdisciplinary, collaborative, and transnational approaches.
This international cooperation program brings together five European higher education institutions in art and design: the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels – ArBA-ESA (Belgium), the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto – FBAUP (Portugal), the Fontys Academy of the Arts (Netherlands), and the Kunstuniversität Linz (Austria), coordinated by the ésadhar – École Supérieure d’Art et Design Le Havre-Rouen (France).
STEP aims to:
-develop innovative teaching methodologies for creation in public spaces
-promote interdisciplinary and transnational collaboration between students and teachers
-enhance students’ employability through high-level, transferable skills
-support professional integration through tools related to artistic entrepreneurship
-ultimately build a common European curriculum, recognized by the awarding of ECTS credits
