participating in exchange programs
Stays abroad allow students to experience different realities, artistic forms, and methodologies, acquire new skills and perspectives, and improve their communication skills and openness to the world.
At ÉSADHAR, study abroad is encouraged starting in the second year and is primarily intended for students in their second and fourth years. The international stay takes place as part of an exchange with a partner higher education institution (one semester or one year) or a professional internship (at least two months to qualify for an Erasmus+ grant). It is possible to combine a mobility experience in Cycle 1 with a new mobility experience in Cycle 2.
Choices of higher education institutions and mobility plans are approved by the person in charge of international relations. This person assists the student in preparing the application file, which will be sent to the relevant institution. Since selection criteria vary from one institution to another, it is advisable to inquire in advance about the timeline and the procedure to follow. It is the students’ responsibility to check application deadlines, which may change from one year to the next.
An information session on international mobility is held at the beginning of each semester to present the terms, procedures, and timelines. Students participating in an international mobility program remain administratively enrolled at ÉSADHAR and pay their tuition fees as usual. At the end of the mobility period, the host institution issues a transcript to the students, which they must submit to ÉSADHAR to have the earned credits validated.
The internship semester takes place within a company or organization (museums, galleries, artists’ studios, etc.). A signed agreement between the host organization, the student, and ÉSADHAR is mandatory. The internship requires the submission of an internship report.
