3RD YEAR ART ROUEN
3RD YEAR ART ROUEN
The third year completes the first cycle and the « programme » phase of the studies. It is the year of the DNAP (National Diploma in Visual Arts) and the year in which the student must assert a personal research that may be subject to a development in the second cycle. This is again a year of deepening techniques and knowledge, but also a year in which all students begin to build their personal projects by a commitment in a number of Workshops for Research and Creation. From the third year, personal meetings with the teachers – dedicated to monitoring and following up on the personal projects – are offered as well as sessions called «contextualisation» where all students, in turn, give the ins and outs of their artistic adventure before a small group of teachers and other students of the same year. The students are prepared for the elaboration of the second cycle thesis by writing a corpus.
THE EVALUATION CRITERIA OF THE DNAP
The candidates for the DNAP exams are graded based on four criteria:
formal and critical presentation of the work
origin and evolution of the project
cultural inscription of the work (relevance of references and diversity of knowledge)
quality of the work completed
Each of these criteria is graded out of five. An average of ten is required for graduation. A distinctionmay be awarded from a grade above fourteen. Congratulations from the jury are given to candidates whose grade reaches or exceeds sixteen.
